Going blonde from a dark colour is so hard! I had black hair and it took me about 3 months to go bleach blonde (though in between i went bright red and pink)! The upkeep is annoying too! Hello brassyness without a toner! ^_^

It will take a few months to go from that gingery colour usually, if you want it blonde blonde! I just dyed over that kinda colour with bright red, waited a few months, deep conditioned lots, then bleached again. It really is a pain in the ass going blonde haha!

ah so i went to the salon just to tone wher ei said my under roots will still copper and the toner washed out my ash that helped my messed up color! i have to re-do my hair i am so mad >:(. so don't feel bad @smashley my hair is very mildly damaged.. so i will be treating it but i am not waiting three weeks to fix this i start m new job this week so i am most likely going to get my ash sinc ethe hair got lighter. but gosh that toner irritated my scalp it wont stop itching

also @smashley try getting a dark ash blonde it should tone down majority of your hair if go to a ash light brown wait awhile and start from highlights

@smashley toners can work or don't you need a toner specifically for the red tones not sure which color toner works for red i know for orange it's blue/violet and for yellow it's purple i think not sure for red i never used toners accept this time at the salon hate it didn't do much did got rid of the red tones under roots but gosh my scalp must have hated it cause my scalp is burned and itching. how many times did you bleach the hair? what exactly did you use ? i can try giving you a better solution. i just got the dark ash blonde i bought before so it better work like it did before or i will lose it lol. yeah people say the same to me guess cause i really light skinned but i hate it lol

it's much easier to go to a champange blonde or ash because ashes netrualize the hair but if you want like a cold white blond or bleach blonde YES it will take a LONG TIME.

yeah bleach will kill the hair if i eve rhave to bleach i do it once then work from there. i think your problem is your natural hair color alot of the time a person who's natural hair is red, any type of browns or black even jet black etc they get stuck at the "red" bleached hair stage. for me i am a natural i say dark ashish blonde that turned light brown as i aged. i thinkt hats why when i bleach it's not as bad leaves me at a orange peach stage with roots mid way being yellow. but since i was red for awhile hard pulling it out hard to get it to a orange stage but i did. then the salon messed it up a bit but helped at same time i just finish coloring it the ash looks 10x better like a sunkissed blonde now.. blends well with my champange blonde extensions but you can see this golden copperish color nothing like ew or bad. so i suggest just going a ash light brown for a few months and then get highlights start with few to several then full head as you go... because at home for you will not help since you were red for so long and a natural aurburn. do alot of conditioner treatments if you can't buy none do mayo or olive oil it helps so much! the day i bleached that night i put mayo in my hair left it for like 4 hours the next day my hair felt better not like plastic. i think i wll make a video today or tomorrow with new hair some products i used and got today etc to help out.
