Reporting Youtube Accounts

Does anyone know how to report a yt account? The user in question doesn't have any videos. They just seem very off to me.

They (I say 'they' because even though they say they're a girl, I get the feeling that might not be true) sent me a message asking if I take requests and that they are studying fashion in nyc. To be honest, something about them seemed off right from that moment. I replied and said I take requests and I try to do them but I can't guarantee I'll do it. So I got a reply right away. The story is that the person got an assignment in school to take something classic and style it into a modern outfit. They chose pantyhose and wanted to know if I wanted to show them how I would style them. Who knows, I might be over reacting but something (aka everything) about this user seems very suspicious.

I know that I wouldn't fall for anything like that (if this is an attempt at a malicious act) but I don't know about other people. There are so many young girls on yt and I'm just a bit worried this user might be having conversations like this with lots of people. Like I said, maybe I'm completely over reacting. I just get a really bad feeling about them and I'm not completely sure what to do.

maybe it's someone who's really looking for help and created the YT acct to be able to ask for it, but you never know...it's sad that we all have to stay on our toes these days

I know. Generally I've a very trusting person but it's hard when you really have no idea who you're talking to sometimes. They have a profile pic but they only just started their channel. No videos, 3 subscriptions and only 1 subscriber. There were 2 things that made me worry the most. Number 1, why would they ask for my help if they're not even subscribed to me? I don't care whether or not they are but you would think that if they valued my opinion, they would watch my videos? Do you know what I mean? Also, if 'she' is studying fashion then why is she asking for help? I've done a couple fashion videos but I wouldn't call myself 'trendy' or 'modern'. Like I said, I might just be over reacting... I can easily ignore any messages that make me feel uncomfortable but I'm a worry wart.

Uhh, what? I definitely think you are over reacting. Please don't take offense to that. I don't think Youtube would do anything about it, it's just a waste of both of y'alls time. There's nothing wrong with asking how to style pantyhose. It's not like you will have to show anything inappropriate in order to make the video. Plus, a ton of people don't make videos, especially if they are asking for advice. :/

Don't worry, I'm not offended. I did say I might be. I just feel it's better to be safe than sorry. That's why I put this up. Yes, to ask how to report accounts but also to get opinions. But I'm not gonna lie, to me it came across as weird. It just reminded me on pretty much every internet safety video I used to have to watch in health class.

Oh, and it probably doesn't help that they only time I hear people say 'pantyhose' is on CSI and shows like that. I generally call them nylons. They're the same thing, right?

Like you told the person "I take request and I try to do them but I can't guarantee I'll do it." I would just let that not be a guarantee if you feel uneasy about the person. I believe we have to trust that inner voice. The person sound like they are in fashion school or something and should be able to look at fashion trends with pantyhose (I would think!)

Lol, pantyhose fetish people are ALL over the internet. But even if they are one of those type of people, YouTube wouldn't really do anything - There's thousands of creepy fetish videos on YouTube - so unless you're being threatened in some sort of way, nothing would happen..

...buuuuuut, you never know. They might TRULY be interested in the subject (& not in a creepy way)
While I believe you're probably looking too much into it - I do see exactly where you're coming from because I've seen a lot of those types of people online lately.

There are TONS of creeps on YouTube. I've had requests for a close up of lipstick application, toe nail painting and leg shaving. It all may sound innocent, but the messages gave me a weird feeling. I get requests regularly, but the wording and the way it was asked felt different. I just ignored them.

If you want to report a user on YouTube, go to "Safety" at the bottom of the main page and go through the process of selecting Harassment (or what you want to report), then click on the link "Help and Safety Tool". You can enter in the user's name and select the method of harassment (message/video).

OMGZZZZ!!!! when I use to work in the CS dept of my work at night we would have a creepy guy call in and ask women if they were wearing pannyhose! He would ask us questions about how they felt on our legs and if we put them on one leg at a time... he was really weird!!!

I would ignore this person sounds like a creeper and not someone who is actually what they say they are. From past experience anyone who asks for a weird request is more than likely a creeper and its best to use your instincts and ignore them :)

Thanks everyone for commenting. I really appreciate it. I'm just ignoring the user. I still feel like I should report them, after all, their account is new so if it did get shut down (which is unlikely) it wouldn't do any damage. But then again, if the person really is a creeper they would just make a new account so it wouldn't really do anything. But I'm really grateful that you guys took the time to read my rambley post. I can be a really big worry wart at times but it's better to be safe than sorry! =]

styling pantyhose? i think you're overreacting too. it's not like they're going to see your crotch area, obviously if you're styling pantyhose you'll wear a skirrt or dress over it. and after all, it's just a request, you're not forced to do anything :]
