If you get mascara on your eyelid, use a cotton bud (q-tip) to remove and this way you won't mess up your eyeshadow!

More important than makeup is skin prep. Make sure you have a super moisturized face. Even oily skin needs moisture. If the skin is in bad shape, no amount of makeup is going to sit nicely.

I think all the tips everyone has suggested so far are really important! If you choose to fill in your eyebrows, make sure that the shadow (or pencil) you use is not too dark.....you don't want your eyebrows to over power your face, but instead be blended and filled in to enhance your look!!

Instead of lining your eyes with a black of dark colored liner, opt for a white, or a pale yellow (depending on your skintone) this will give the illusion that your eyes are larger than they really are! Or if you want to use a dark colored liner, use it on your bottom lash line instead of on your waterline!

I agree with @Michelle!
& whoever said about the BLEND BLEND BLEND!!! Yesss do please!
I cannot tell you I can't stand how many times I see girls wearing makeup & they do NOT blend!!! IT'S ANNOYING! Another thing is when their neck & face are 2 different tones....blend that together!!!!!
