Have you considered Cyberlinks PowerDirector 9? I believe it costs around $49.99 and you can download it instantly. I suggest you check it out on youtube!

A reasonable priced version of Sone Vegas Pro is the Sony Movie Studio HD 11. That's what i'm using currently. It's 46.99 I believe (still on the trail version). And it has the same basic features as the vegas pro. And if your only using it for yt vids, I think it's great. Windows Movie maker is good but I prefer the sony movie studio.
