Thanks for the think Stephanie F. Interesting... That's so weird that she would do that =\

Steff, Yeah I know. Weird. I know people don't like her, but I really relate to her personality. To each their own, I suppose. ;)

OMG Andrea G. That poor girl on the video. She is too young to be doing makeup tutorials and talking about anti aging stuff. =\

I saw the black pump in the mirror! I still love kandee johnson...but it puzzles me why she would lie to her viewers. :-/ if she enjoys high end foundation...that's fine with me as long as she preaches the truth!

Alexandra, agreed. It could just be a fail like Terra said. But it was also kinda weird how the mirror kinda looks covered up on purpose...I dunno, I can just be reading too much into it. I usually do LOL I still like her. She has a lot of things on staying positive and her cheer is fun to me.

i'm glad i came across this topic......i've been trying to improve my vids and i found some really great stuff here. and @ jane a. no you aren't the only one who enjoys the vids with just music and text. i've been thinking about switching to that format just to get my video length down

well, my number one this is, if I click on your video and all I see is your face in the camera, I'm clicking something else. Back away from the camera! Some people's voices get on my nerves, but I learn to look past it, if I actually like what they're talking about. I honestly love the sped up "get ready with me" videos some Gurus do. If you're camera is not of good quality, I wont watch. There are others, but this is all I can thing of now

I almost feel like it goes without saying that video/photo quality is important, but there's such an abundance of horrible looking videos and photos that I guess it still needs saying. Your audience looks for true-to-color representations (as much as that's possible on varying screens) and fuzzy shots or a yellow cast to everything just nullify whatever you're attempting to show. Things like clarity of speech and volume are also good to have if you're speaking.

Personally, I can forgive some less-than-stellar photos and videos if I feel like the vlogger/blogger knows what they're talking about and is still imparting good advice. When I hear someone mispronounce ingredients, identify the wrong brands, state explicitly that they don't know what a thing does... I will turn it off so quick and never look back. Misinformation is worse than no information, especially when you have an audience trusting you for informed reviews. If you truly want to be a "guru", don't self-proclaim it, educate yourself on the industry (how products are made, marketed, and used) and share that via your personality. You're guaranteed an audience that'll never leave you.

I mean if someone's voice is just weird...yeah I can't stand that. Or if they are trying to be funny...and aren't. Also I can't stand when the lighting isnt good or if the video is poor quality.
