Try Sonia Kashuk brushes. They're sold at Target. Other than those, Vanessa and DeShelle have already suggested some really good brushes.

Crown... Lowe Cornell is also pretty good but the handles are super long haha. I think crown brushes are a good choice because of the selection. If you're just starting out, Eco Tools is pretty good too.

Where do you gals go to get Eco Tools or Crown brushes?

Drugstores like Rite Aide, Walgreens, etc have the Eco Tools. Crown brushes you can either buy on hautelook when they have their sale for it.. or you can buy from their website directly (:

I think I've seen some of Crown's brush sets on overstock.com as well. Definitely have a poke around there, too. :)

I found this brush set on clearance, 10 Brushes for $20, they are normally $70. I can not say I've tried these but I wanted to because of the price. I'm guessing they work pretty well, but this website has no reviews or anything so I'm not totally sure.

I like LiLique brushes they aren't famous but they are cheap and soft and don't she and are durable in my opinion!
