NO. MAC does not make any pre-filled palettes of any sort, other than the quads they sometimes put out with their collections.

Nope! Looks like my cpc cosmetics palette. but the colors are crazy pigmented.

LOL ..though I suppose I shouldn't laugh. There are so many people/companies out there pushing fake MAC it's ridiculous. I see ads all the time on Facebook despite the fact that MAC doesn't prescribe to traditional advertising methods. It's a shame so many are duped, though I suppose there are plenty who just want the name for cheap.
If it's not from a counter, store, outlet/warehouse or the website.. buyer beware.

That palette sorta looks like the Coastal Scents or BH Cosmetic palettes. I tried to look for a palette that exaclty looks like that from these two sites, but I couldn't find one that started with "blue shadows"
On the whim, I googled MAC Palette, and there are a bunch of sites that sale "MAC Palettes" and brushes. Some sites are saying these palettes are "discontinued." I don't even think these palettes were on sale to begin with. If you check M.A.C.'s site, you can see what their products actually look like.
When I buy online, I try to buy straight from the brand's website. Or I look to see which websites/stores are authorized dealers for their products. Many websites sale items with warranty, but since they are not authorized dealers, if you go to the company itself asking or help, they cannot help you.
I try to stay away from any websites that I don't hear too much MUA's mention. Example, Cherry Couture, I was like is this site fake? But I noticed a lot of MUA shop at the site, so I know it's legit. Amazon is another example, I used to think for sure whatever is on Amazon, it's legit, but if you take a close look the item is being shipped from a vendor that most times I never heard of. Then I realized even with a reputable site like Amazon, Ebay, Overstock, etc. you have to be aware in general.

Now I feel like an idiot, I always had suspicions that it was not MAC, I bought it off eBay, and I got a little brush roll with it that comes with about 6 brushes, I'm guessing they aren't legit either. What a rip off, I'm going to find out who sold me this, not that it will do much justice. I already wrote great feedback :/

You can report them if it's fake and get your money back. =)
They sell TONS of fake MAC products at my local flea market... I try really hard not to laugh when I walk by the stalls that push them and say it's real. I bought a MAC Lightful powder foundation exclusive to Asia when I first started in makeup, and had a good scare about it being fake, but after extensive research, I found out it was real... not ALL eBay is evil and ridden with fakes. Unfortunately, it just happens to be 99.8% so... =(

@Jessie Don't feel like that, it's happened to plenty of people. I've seen videos on YouTube where people hauled what they thought were some really great deals.. only to find out they were fake. Ebay has gotten better in terms of refunding for fake items, but definitely do research on products once you've received before leaving feedback. That's part of the problem, as so many sellers have all this 'great' feedback that people assume means it's legitimate.
Live & learn. :]
Thankfully these days there are plenty of online resources available to help determine what's fake vs. what's been discontinued/old limited etc.

Sucks........ check out www.allcosmeticswholesale.com if you're looking for legit products for less. I order from her all the time. It's not a scam at all and you can get some insane deals, even on MAC stuff.

It's all good, I think I payed $80 for it, and it's been something for me to practice with, even though they are pretty sucky, when applying they just don't want to stick, even with primer. Some are extremely pigmented, like the ones with glitter in them, but the rest are sooo dull.. Oh well

iv had the same problem when i first started out in makeup i wanted to buy some brushes so i bought some "MAC" ones online (i didnt even know what MAC was at the time.) i was so excited then i realised from watching youtube tuts and going on the MAC website that i was fooled lol. i by from the actual website of the brand or ACW..
embarrassing enough i bought benefit hoola and coralista a few weeks ago from an ebay seller (because those products are $51 a pop is aus!) who said they were 100% authentic, turns out they werent!!! such a dissapointment!
you just have to be careful and not as trusting to think everyone will do the right thing!

Jessie, I completely agree with Soma, you can file a complaint with eBay and get 100% refund. It is against eBay's selling policies to allow counterfeit product of any kind to be bought & sold trough their site. The process is simple, let us know how it works out! xoxo

I should but I just haven't been bothered too, I might do that later on when I get on my computer. Hopefully I get my money back. Spend it on some REAL makeup haha :D

You have a short window of time. Here is their number where you can speak with a live human and explain what happened. They will open the case for you. 866-903-3229 I sell on ebay for a living. Other sellers like this make me soooo mad!! haha PS- you will not have PIN when you call eBay - thats ok. just stay on the line.

I would definitely file a complaint... If you don't the seller could rip off other people. You won't have any problems at all getting your money back. :)

I bought this so long ago I don't know if they could do anything about it now, well I know I won't get my money back but it might stop them from selling that product claiming that it's MAC. I sent a message to the person who sold it too me and this is what I wrote:
'I bought an item off you awhile back now and I have recently found out that it is a fake product, or so I have been told, also through research myself. I bought off you the 'MAC 180 eyeshadow palette' that came with a little 'MAC' brush set. I was wondering if this matter could be resolved, and if I am wrong about it, would you please show me proof of how it is not a fake?'
Let's see if anything comes of this..

I got a response and this is what they said:
Dear jayfizzle,
Hello,
I'm sorry tohear you are not happy with your product.
I'd like to clarify that your item was never listed as an Authentic M.A.C Cosmetic.
If you refer to the listing it was listed as a MAC180 seperating it from the M.A.C Cosmetics brand. Also at the time of selling the products I had a disclosure on my about me page stating it and I was not connected to the M.A.C Cosmetics brand whatsoever. Since removed, as I no longer sell the products.
Further to that as you stated M.A.C Cosmetics no dont even make this product therefore how can it be a fake...
Lastly you will note that feedback left on 10 November 2010 I also honestly stated my products were no M.A.C Cosmetics, this fact I did not hide from my prospective customers.
Kind regards

Then why did he use the word MAC? That alone is misleading. E-mail him back stating that the item contains the Mac Cosmetics logo with the way the MAC is written. That can't be legal to do.
May 26, 2011
Jessie N.
I would but I think I'm just not going to bother, I've learnt my lesson, got to do more research next time me thinks lol. They don't sell that product anymore, they probably have gotten in trouble for it so they stopped selling them :/
