I have heard such great things about the Beauty Blender but I find it to be a bit pricey. I am just getting back into the whole "foundation" routine. I normally do airbrush but I just purchased Makeup Forevers HD foundation and love it. I want to buy a "beauty blender" but hopefully I can find a great dupe for it. I read that the Sonia Kashuk at Target is not that great. Does anyone know of anything that is comparable?

I have been eyeing this little sponge lately since it's gotten some good reviews. MakeupGeek.com has a single for $17.99. It's not super cheap, but since it's reusable I've been considering it anyway. I know they also sell a special cleaner for it. I guess, if it's reusable and as fabulous as some people are saying, maybe I can justify the price! I've seen it elsewhere for $19.99, so I guess shipping may be the defining factor as to whether or not it's a better deal there or not. Here's a link to the one on MakeupGeek that I found (not sure if it's cheaper than what you've seen): http://www.makeupgeek.com/store/featured/beauty-blender.html

On Sephora you can get two beautyblenders for $25 or $26. I've not used it, but I'd also like to at least try it.
I don't think there are very many dupes for it, if any (aside from the Sonia Kashuk sponge). Your only other main option in this vein would be disposable latex sponges.
Besides sponges, you can always use a standard flat foundation brush, or a flat-top kabuki brush or a duo-fiber "skunk" brush to stipple it on.

Is it worth it? Depends. If you use disposable sponges to begin with then it can be a worth while investment. The sponge will last you a couple of years with proper care. There are several dupes on the market such as Sonia Kashuk for $9.99 at Target.
What I would recommend is checking out Amazon.com and see if you can find one for less there. :D

Has anyone tried the Super Blender from Ulta? It is around $6.00!!! I dont want to just go buy it and not like it. It will be a waste if nothing compares to the original Beauty Blender.

I bought the beauty blender!!! I love it. It was so worth the money. It really does give you an airbrush look (as long as you do the bouncing method and not just rub). I bought it during the Sephora VIB sale. I got package of 2. I gave one to my mom... I know that she is going to love it as well.

Just a quick question, can you use the beauty blender on powder stuff? Or is it just liquid stuff?

I use it with MAC's mineralize powder after I put my foundation and concealer. You can see my blog post about it... I have a video.

@Melissa. I love MakeupForever's HD foundation. It is very light, yet gives you a full coverage look. I think this is going to be amazing in the summer because I dont like to wear heavy foundations b/c they make me sweat... but this is light enough where I dont think its going to do that.

@Keshonta... have you used the Beauty Blender? Can you compare the 2? I would love to know if it is as good as the BB. If it is, I will purchase that next time!!!

I don't have a sephora near me an don't have the time to get online so o haven't gotten the one for 19.99 yet. The ulta one is fab I used the same water soaking technique and then blotting. The only thing I'm concerned with is the cleaning of the sponge. I'm not quite sure what to use cause I don't want to keep putting makeup on top of makeup.

You can use any facial cleanser. I bought some random foaming facial cleanser from Target and it works great. Plus it smells awesome! haha.

I have the beauty blender, love it but yes a bit pricey to only last 4-6 months at best. SOHO, sold in Walgreens has the BEST dube on the market. Retails for $8 same color, same shape and everything!!! I've used the two side by side and have not been able to see nor feel a difference between the two! Walmart has them for even cheaper, $4.97!! http://mobile.walmart.com/m/phoenix;jsessionid=1DF9BD04863722E0414AB73922AF9615#ip/SOHO-Beauty-Sponge/20924342
