Ok ladies, I have a confession: I am not good at applying and blending matte eyeshadows. I love to see other people use them but not myself. So I am trying to overcome my fear lol. So what are some good inexpensive brands. I want something that is smooth going on, not chalky or powdery and easy to blend. Yeah that sounds like a lot huh? Well thanks and I can't wait to hear everyones suggestions :)

I use the Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette (I got mine from eBay cuz it does work out cheaper..) and a lot of the colours on there are matte. I have to admit, I never used mattes until I got this palette. Most of the colours are incredibly easy to blend, and they're all so useable. And considering they're neutral, I'm sure that will take away a lot of your fear of matte e/s! :)

The Wet n Wild ColorIcon palettes have half matte/half shimmer and I've had no problem with the mattes in the Vanity palette at all. :]

I actually purchased the 28 Neutral Palette from Coastal Scents after loving their 88 matte/satin palette. I found the quality of that particular palette to be terribly chalky and unpigmented after the amazing-ness of the 88 palette. My first foray into matte shadows was with the 88 palette, and I feel like that thing is almost foolproof with how smooth and blendable those colors are, Plus, with the 88 palette, you really can experiment with any color you want, from neutrals to pastels to brights. Good luck! :)

That's so strange! Maybe I have incredibly low standards lol, but I haven't tried the 88 palette. This is making me want to try it! :)

@Patrice T. do you happen to have a blending brush? I used to have the same fear and I learned that a good blending brush comes in handy and helps make things a tad bit easier. NYX has some decent mattes worth playing with. And since they are super affordable you won't be out of much $$ if its a miss. ULTA carries them and of course you can find them online as well. Hope that helps. :)

matte eyeshadows are, in general, more difficult to blend. I can't say enough good things about inglot shadows, the mattes are the best I think i've ever used

Too Faced has their Matte Eye Palette which blends beautifully.
