I was just curious to know;

1) What is everyone's occupation? Even if you're a MUA, student, engineer, in medical, etc., let us know! It's great seeing two sides to everyone.
2) And if you are a MUA (career wise & as a hobby) do you freelance, are you full time? Part time? What company?
3) When did your interest start in beauty and make-up?

This could be a great way to get to know each other and network as well!

I'll start :)

1) I'm a registered nurse working in dialysis.
2) I freelance with make up and hair since 2004.
3) I became interested in HS (9th grade) to get past my teen angst insecurity. I first started dabbling with eyeshadow, Maybelline specifically.

So, what's YOUR story beautylishers?

1) Well right now I don't have a job but my husband is in the military but, is getting out soon we are in the process of moving to colorado so thats the reason no job and I was in the military for 4 1/2 years.
2) I sorta just play with my friends and don't get paid to do it just fun. Everyone says I should go to school for it but ???
3) I became interested when I was a little girl probably like 8 or 9 years old but, joining the military it became hard and then had my little one even harder but, my son is my inspiration to my make-up he keeps me going. I love it all.

1) I'm a student trying to get my degree to be a pre-school teacher. I'm a MUA I also make cards for holidays and any occasion on the side for fun, plus some extra cash for school books doesn't hurt.
2) I am freelance so it's not steady but mostly as a hobby
3) Since i was 6 and my mom got a job working in the packaging area for a make-up company called Tova. any makeup that didn't meet the owners expectations employees got to keep so my mom always brought home huge boxes of all makeup imaginable. To this day i actually still have some of their brushes, they're so great lol

1. Unemployed at the moment
2. A hobby but now want to freelance on the weekends and build me clientel
3. About 3 yrs ago. My coworker was in it deep and I loved her looks. Never thought I could do it but she introduced me to youtube. I was hooked and started practicing like crazy and here I am.... a makeup addict and luvin it!!!

Well, when I went to Vancouver in 2007, I fell in LOVE! It's so beautiful. And my bf lives in Toronto so I love it there as well. Something about Canada that's so peaceful to me, haha. Unlike fast-paced NYC! Love it here, but I need a change. Let's switch!

@Julie - That's exactly what I had in mind =)

Kristin - I lived in the suburbs of Toronto for about 3-4 years prior to moving out west...I've never been to NYC yet...definitely on my list of places to go!

1) Well...Technically, I'm a pastry chef. But I've been taking a break from that to do some writing and artwork that I've been neglecting, trying to plot my next move. At least I have a culinary career to fall back on?
2) I USED to freelance as a MUA after I got out of cosmo, but these days I really just do it for friends and family that need occasion or costume makeup. When I was in college, I volunteered for costume makeup in the theater dept.
3) I really didn't get into makeup until I was in highschool. Even then, I didn't get into crazy awesome over-the-top makeup like I am now until I was 17 or so. My friend clubbed me over the head and dragged me into a Sephora--and my life has never been the same!

OK, my turn! LOL
I'm a stay at home mommy. I have my hands full with my two dollies (1 & 5 year old daughters). I want to work at Ulta or Sephora but not yet, my hubby doesn't want the baby in daycare!
I dream of becoming a MUA. I plan on starting up a YouTube channel. I have a beauty blog I'm starting but just give me some time. Be patient with me, please!
I fell in love with make up when I was a mere child. My mom sold AVON and would give me the little lipstick samples to play with and that was the beginning of it all...

one: I am a high school student doing a 5th year, but next year i'm going to makeup school.
two: I'm only 18 but I've taught myself everything I know, and I recently started my own Freelance makeup company called Hypnotic Beauty.
three: My interest in makeup started when I was in grade 10 when one of my friends and I also tried doing each others makeup. A few years ago my OBSESSION started when my aunt showed me the beauty world on Youtube, the first person I watched was xsparkage, after I started watching a lot of videos i ended up buying more and more makeup.

1) What is everyone's occupation?
I'm a TV Producer in Singapore.

2) And if you are a MUA (career wise & as a hobby) do you freelance, are you full time? Part time? What company?
Wouldn't call myself a makeup artist...not even close! Lol but I love makeup and I think I hoard. It's fascinating to see how you can enhance/transform/beautify yourself with all these amazing makeup products.

3) When did your interest start in beauty and make-up?
I was a late bloomer - I only really started using makeup when I entered college. I remembered hating the feel of lipstick when I was 12 (I literally wouldn't close my mouth coz I didn't want to taste any of it). But it all changed when I discovered eyeliner. It literally opened my eyes, and then I started following poring over glossy magazines, especially the ones on Asian beauty. I loved the colors and the looks and I was hooked since then!
