I'm a fan of Cinema Secrets brush cleaner and Dr. Bronner's peppermint liquid castille soap.

CS is a little pricier and harder to find, but it cleans and disinfects well and fast. I've tried Pink Soap and Baby Shampoo which are gentle but neither completely removed eyeshadow and blush stains so I tried my Dr. Bronner's one day and it was amazing. Gentle, cheap and my white haired brushes are white again.

I use MAC brush cleanser, Sephora Brush Shampoo, and I just order ELF brush shampoo. I haven't tried the baby shampoo yet. I like the MAC brush cleanser, but I don't really the smell of it and it was kinda expensive.

Check out my brush cleaning video! :) http://www.youtube.com/user/Makemeupology?feature=mhee#p/u/4/r3mJKBu1bJI

I used to use Sephora's antibacterial brush cleanser, but now I use baby shampoo. I liked Sephora's brush cleanser, but felt I was going through it too quickly, so baby shampoo became a cheap alternative.

I've never bought brush cleanser. I mix a bit of a gentle shampoo with a bit of my old free foaming makeup remover. It gets everything off and I don't spend anything extra for it!

BABY SHAMPOO lol. doesn't have any harsh chemicals to damage your brushes.

sephora sells a daily brush cleaner spray that works on all brushes for spot cleaning. for deep cleaning I use a professional grade brush cleaner because it sanatizes the brush & you don't have to let them dry over night like you do with baby shampoo but I'm a MUA so drying time is an issue. for personal use I'm sure baby shampoo is fine. Amanda is right about the brand concept , they just want you to buy more of their brands products. there are many alcohol free antibacterial cleansers available too. this is a good one: http://www.brandedjcollections.com/store/detail.asp?50

Use baby shampoo. It's gentle enough that it won't ruin your brushes but still gets them clean. And in between shampooings, I use sephora's anti bacterial cleansing spray. You just spray it on the brush hair, and wipe it off in a circular motion onto a towel and you're set! Clean brushes with baby shampoo once a week :)

There's also another topic on brush cleaning which has some great tips as well.

I clean my brushes just by plainly using my favorite shampoo, apply them to my brushes, and wash out the shampoos. Then I let my brushes dry just by placing a paper towel and placing my brushes down on top!

I like to use purity by philosophy or a babywash. Anything that's going to remove the makeup and be gentle on the bristles.
