Have YouTube makeup videos gotten boring?

idk if im the only one that noticed it but it seems like no one is doing anything new or creative anymore,the looks are the same an being recycled :(

I think there is only a limited amount of colours in the spectrum and then again only a limited amount of colours that look good together so eventually they will be recycled unfortunately. Plus the seasons trends and stuff influence them I suppose.

I suppose we live by the saying 'nothing is new, only rewritten in a different way'

There are certain videos that I love to watch like "Whats in my purse/make up bag" but I totally agree with you. Everything seems so boring now. Somebody spice it up!

I like how @Louise-Lesley mentioned "nothing is new, only rewritten in a different way." Tutorials can start looking the same after a while (this is what happens when there's such fab girls + guys who create videos!) but I heart watching them all. Everyone has different styles and techniques so it'll cater to someone.
@Wingi - I think you have it in you to create more lovely videos for the community!
@Linda - I totally watch videos over and over too ;)

i feel like i watch the same video 6 times just with a different person tlking I think that there are some gurus who you can only watch for so long before their vidros get boring and repatitive. honestly if one more guru does a katy perry grammys look i will cry or a kim kardashian smokey eye, its all pretty basic and there are only so many variations you can do of it

Yes!! ^^^ or the Rihanna"Whats my Name" Tutorial, That one got played out real quick. All the gurus did them. It's really not that hard. but I still supported all of them and watched.

I think it only gets boring if you watch TOO many videos... [of which I am VERY guilty of!] - but I do agree that I still manage to pick up a few new techniques here and there from some surprisingly boring videos with different colors being cycled into the same smokey eye look.

The entertainment factor plays a large role in how one attracts a new viewer to your videos though. True, it may be the same video another "guru" may have posted, with the same colors and techniques being used... but if that person is dull as dirt and can't hold my attention, it really doesn't matter if the same look is being done a million times as long as I find someone that can hold my interest. I like variety and the ability to freely choose who I want to watch.  =)

I agree I think the new beauty videos have gotten very boring and some of them are very over used I haven't watched one in forever and I think we need some new ideas for the YouTube beauty community Idk if it's just me but I think we need some new you tubers too I have been watching makeupbymandy for the past 6 months and she is kind of getting old and there is no one else that really intrigues me in the makeup section of YouTube. That is my opinion anyway.
