Nude lips, love it or loathe it?

Now by nude lips I don't mean natural-looking lips, I mean the flesh-toned lips that are EVERYWHERE! I personally love the way it looks on some people, but I cannot do it. I am Japanese and Italian and I have an olive complexion and for some reason on me it just makes me look sickly. Maybe if I try it a few more times I can get used to it, but so far I haven't been able to like it on myself.

So ladies, what about you? Do you nude-lip it up and if you do, what's your favorite product to use on your lips for the flesh-tone effect? Concealer? Lipstick? Which ones?

With Spring coming, do you think the nude lip will fade and glosses will take over? I'm a huge gloss-junkie!

love the nude lip with bold eyes. but i think for spring the trends are gonna be bright lip, like orange.

i usually use lipstick and then i gloss on top
some lipsticks: Myth by MAC, Mauve it over by Revlon
my fav nude gloss: NYX mega shine lipgloss in Natural

Just a note, I have olive skin as well, so these colours may work well for you.

i love nude lips :) but sometimes i do feel like it washes out my lips too too much.. so what I like to do is get a light pink lipgloss or lipstick and just apply it on the middle part of my lips :) makes it look cute, adds a pop of color (it looks like you're sucking on a lollipop) hehe

mauve it over by revlon is great as well!!

I wear nude lips if I have lots of eye makeup on, but they have to be super glossy not matte. I will start with YSL Rouge Volupte #4 and top with NARS Greek Holiday or YSL Golden Gloss #10.

Since I agree with Christine R - lips will be bright this season, I am rocking Dior Addict High Shine #754. It a BRIGHT red - looks super intimidating but goes on moderately sheer and is buildable. xoxo

I love nude lips but only if paired with a strong eye or cheek. I think that so long as it's not a matte nude it looks good otherwise it looks like death warmed over.

I absolutely love nude lips. I've been wearing the nude lip for almost a year in a half now and still completely obsessed. I only wear my nude lip when I am wearing eyeshadow just to keep the focus on my eyes. My favorite nude lipstick of all time has to be Revlon's Colorburst Soft Nude. Got introduced to it last year and I've always gone through 3 tubes.

With Spring coming I know orange and coral are going to be everywhere so I purchased MACs lipgloss in Richer,Lusher. Amazing orange pink gloss :)

Matte flesh-toned lipsticks don't work for me (I look like I got foundation on my lips) but shimmery flesh-toned lipsticks give me that "I just wet my lips" look. LOL. I wore the nude-lips for a year about 2 years ago. The past 2 years I've been wearing only chapsticks and carmex. The past 2 months, I've been loving (daily) the frosty, bright pink lipsticks (NYX flower #619, Maybelline A22)

Personally i dislike it on myself. im fair skinned with light blonde hair so having nude lips is gross looking even with dark smokey eyes and a contoured face. I hate taking pictures and looking washed out or my lips are MIA! i love my lips so i prefer to make them stand out!

I stick to light browns, peaches and light pinks if i want a nude look, i normally use MAC hug me, emphatic (DIS) Angel or shy girl. MUFE has some great alternatives too!

I love to wear nude lipstick!
I have fair/pink toned skin so bold lips never works on me. Execept dark purples, the great pink planet from LimeCrime and some chocolate colors from Dior.
Nude is my day- to-day lip color.
I use Eyeko Toffee fat balm. It moistures and gives just little bit of shine. <3

I have been using Revlon's Smooth Nude and I love it! Although, I must say, it is taking me awhile to get used to the idea. I have always worn a color called Mica, or pinks, and mauves. I am liking this nude look, though. I use a gloss to put over it as well. It creates a really fresh new look for me.

I personally love the nude-lip look, BUT only with very bold eyes. My only problem with nude lips is when females don't know how to pick the right tone of nude to compliment their skin tone. For me, I can't do cool-toned nudes -- I have to either find one with a warm undertone or pair them w/ a peachy or neutral brown gloss. And I agree with Yasmin K. about the finish of it. Matte nudes are so harsh IMO
