I love my E.L.F. Brushes, but BEWARE!!

I woke up to a shock this morning. I put my beloved E.L.F. brushes in the cleanser yesterday and was called away to a family emergency. By the time I got home, I was exhausted and didn't have an opportunity to rinse them out. Well, to my horror this morning, I pull them out to find that all my $1 brushes were cracked. The studio line brushes are not damaged. I am waiting to let the damaged brushes dry to see if they are usable (fingers crossed).

Pics?

I'm sorry your brushes were damaged but why did you soak them in the first place?

MMM I'm sorry to hear that (heavy sigh). I just ordered the set and I'm ecstatic to get them sometime this week. I guess the saying is true "you have to learn from other people's mistakes." On the flipside the brushes are affordable so it isn’t a complete waste!

Oh man. That is not cool but I am with Yasmin when I ask, "why did you soak them"?

I was just cleaning them. I had used the E.L.F. brush cleaner, but I was trying the E.L.F. brush shampoo and just had the brush tips in the water with the shampoo. I've updated with Studio line brushes and my daughter has delightfully taken all my basic line brushes for her collection.

Ahhh. I took it when you said you soaked them as in literally setting the whole brushes in liquid for a while.

Well that sucks! Luckily they're inexpensive enough to replace without breaking the bank. I've got a couple of the regular ones but prefer their studio line better.

How do you like their brush cleaner? Does it work very well?

Love both the brush cleaner and the brush shampoo. Has anyone tried the Mist & Set. I found it in my local Kmart in their new Studio line display, but I misplaced the bag once I got it home.

[heavy sigh] Stephanie C you’ve had no luck!

@Cashmere B. It's all good. I know it's somewhere around here. I shopped at Sally's Beauty and Ulta that same day, so my one little thing from Kmart probably got tossed aside somewhere. I'd bet my granddaughter could tell me where it is. I just placed an order on eyeslipsface.com, so I just got another one. I'm really loving E.L.F., NYX and Sally Girl at the moment.

I've always loved E.L.F brushes. (I take them everywhere for travel -- my high-end brushes stay at home.) Normally I have great experiences with E.L.F but I bought a foundation brush the other day and the handle was kind of lose from the brush. Every time I use it it makes sort of a squeaking sound. I'm looking forward to buying some of the studio-line brushes, though!

Might have to see if my Target has the ELF brush cleaner tomorrow, I'm running out of mine!

Our Targets only carry the basic line, but they just recently put the studio line into our Kmarts (the cleaner is studio line).

I am currently using the Mist and Set and I love it. I spray it on before and after my foundation application and it makes my makeup feel like its not even there. I have foundation that is light but my heavier foundations feel like nothing when I use the Mist and Set
