Lash extensions have come a long way since 2010-12; mainly due to so many salons offering the service. A full set will cost you the most; it can range from $150 up to $300 (way to expensive for my taste). I found a great place in SF called Lashfully; they have multiple locations in CA.
I pay for a VIP membership which allows me to get fills at $50 every two weeks.. most people spend more on Starbucks Coffee in two weeks!

The major issue is finding an AMAZING technician; lash techs don't need a cosmo license (in CA) just have to get the training and certificate.
This is why most techs suck; sorry but ya'll do... I've been to SEVERAL after my Lash Goddess @brandileigha (lashesbybl.com) decided to become a big deal... :))) our schedules didn't align which started my quest to find a semi decent lash tech.

Start running out the door if they try to put.2mm or higher (volume/width of an individual lash).
To heavy for your poor lash, causes breakage and lashes with cross over each other..which ended in no lashes for me... had to use serums to grow mine back.
Avoid going to places that market "Junior Techs" at a lower cost vice versa or don't offer fills for other peoples work *that's just greedy*
I find that such an insult as a consumer and marketer... you basically saying.. HEY we will offer you subpar service options here at my salon xyz but we're great. My experience with the jr. tech was actually great; however the lead told her what to do- over my request / expectations.

Make sure you are clear on what your expectations are: bring your favorite style / look you're going I.e. falsies that you like etc. A good tech will let you know that if it's feasible and if it's not what they can do to get a similar look / length / volume.

For those blessed white girls who have naturally long lashes; you'll roll out of bed with perfectly curled and voluminous lashes; It will cut down time getting ready for work etc. Major +

For us Asian's it's more of a necessity: there is such a DRAMATIC difference, my eyes just "POP"... I'm so sick of wearing lash strips: finding lashes in random places.. dealing with glue ughhhhh...

Ask about the glue, make them give you details, yes we all know it's medical grade but they're not all =. I have naturally dry eyes and wear contacts- so I bring my glasses or take my lenses out. Bottom lashes are HOT.. make sure if you request bottom lashes that they use the "sensitive" glue or your eyes will be watering which totally defeats the purpose.

Research the types of lashes:
Faux Mink, Silk, Real Mink
Lash Curls: N,J,B,C,CC,D,You,L,LL
Lengths and width..

I am not a big post opinion /info on Boards but I wanted to share- this as I have spent $$$$ on all sorts of products and as you get older you get a little more particular as to what you put on your face. Along with the fact that my skin is soooo very sensitive to almost everything.
In my everlasting pursuit for what is good for my skin and what makes me look great I discovered Younique.
What I discovered is that product line specializes in naturally based mineral makeup and skin care products that are GOOD for your skin!

The 3D Fiber Lashes are a natural alternative to false eyelashes/extensions that go on like mascara, pose no risk to your eyes and wash off easily at night. The product last for 8 – 12 weeks. And you have the flexibilty of glamming up to the degree you desire without the maintenance. For a modern busy woman...I doint like thins that create more hassle than its worth. So this gets 2 thumbs up!

You should also know that Younique is one of very few cosmetic companies to list ALL their ingredients on the packaging and the website so if something is NOT listed it’s NOT in the product! --- Absolutely no fillers, No Parabens, No synthetic fragrances, No Talc, No Oils, VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE, CRUELTY FREE..All products

So, after trying a few products I switched my make up to Younique!! The prices are the best compared to other Natural Mineral Make up! are fully labeled with ingredients on both the product and the website!!

Guys, have you considered using a fiber lash mascara? Younique has one that has 100% natural tea leaf fibers and it's only $29 and lasts up to 3 months.
