Remember that episode of Sex & The City when Miranda gets picked up at the gym, and she doesnt understand why a guy would be mackin on her, bc unlike her fellow lady gym go-ers, shes completely au naturale?
Well that got me to thinkin about myself and similar situation where Ive been hit on au naturale but not when I go in made up. But I cant stand not to wear AT LEAST mascara and a bit of eyeliner!
Maybe we should start basing our
reviews on the "gym test"? If it can withhold an hour on the treadmill then it wins, right? haha. jk
Anyways:
DISCUSS!
Do you wear makeup to the gym? If so, what?
What is the "acceptable" amount?
Do you think it makes someone look completely rediculous and like their trying to hard?
Personally, when I see a girl dolled up im like, "REALLY?! youre supposed to be here to gym it up...this is not the MAC counter hunny...."
=P

The only makeup I have on at the GYM is brow powder because my brows need filling in.
I read an article earlier this week about GYM etiquette. Believe it or not, wearing makeup to the gym is a no no hahah.
Guys may look at girls with makeup on at the gym as trying to shield and hide something vs a girl who doesn't wear makeup. He know she means business and ready to work out.

if I'm able to go the gym in the morning, I don't wear any makeup. if I cant and have to go after work, I already have it on i'm not gonna waste time taking it off. I have 2 kids so I gotta get it while the gettin' is good. No time to worry about what some dude thinks either way.

I love Sex and the City, I know exactly what you're talking about, great episode, haha!
I can totally believe you would get hit on without makeup, at the gym. My boyfriend does not like makeup on women at all, he says he is far more impressed by a girl who looks pretty without makeup than one who looks pretty with makeup on. I have also had many many guy room mates, and they all had similar views, so I can see how this would happen to you! I've definitely had the "where did you meet my roommate?" talk with the girls they would bring home many times, and a lot of the more attractive girls were found at the gym and said they were embarrassed about not sporting a made-up face!
When I go out "without makeup" I need to at least put on eyebrows... or at least fix them up a bit.

I don't dare wear make-up to the gym. Clogged pores and melting face not attractive. I only wear flavored lipgloss and maybe mascara. I see it all the gym....the guys I train with crack jokes about the girls who come in with make-up on. They consider those girls high maintenance and don't give them the time if day no matter how attractive they are. Best believe they will ask me to run interference on the natural girls who sweat. They consider those girls "real" and worth getting to know. So if you're looking for a honey at the gym I highly advise leaving the makeup for application after the gym.

I would say, Mascara and Blush is acceotable. Eyeahadow not so much because I rub my eyes a lot when I'm working out.

When I go to the Gym I wear a pressed powder, concealer under the eyes, concealer for my blemishes and a tiny bit of blusher! This is only because I don't feel comfortable going all natural to the gym! I don't see the need for mascara and eyeliner though!
