Instead of doing the white liner trick, opt for a nude colored pencil! Its less obvious than white and looks more natural :)

I like Stila Kajal eyeliner in-Topaz

Hope you find this useful Dolls!

Thanks for this info. I'll try it.

I prefer Rohto Eye Drops. Since entering my 30s the whites of my eyes are not that white. With Rohto they are white again so I don't even use the white eyeliner trick that often.

Actually white liner isn't even in the best option when the end game is whiter eyes. Color theory shows that blue liners counter balance redness better, so if you're using this as a "trick" for whiter eyes, you're selling yourself short.

What the white liner DOES do, is make the eyes appear "brighter" and larger. It also helps define colors on the lower lid, and lower lashes. I wouldn't advice rim/water lining with a nude, unless you have unnaturally red water lines and just want to down play it.

Instead, I think Tree, Yasmin, and Rachel nailed it! Treat the problem at hand to cure the redness in the first place. ;)

yes erin basically took the words right out of my mouth ;)
I purchased stilas topaz for the same reason trying to tone down the white since im so fair & brighten my eyes (which i dont mind it) but its horrid! it only looks good with neutrals eyes, its too peach and looks funky with certian eyeshadows. plus it doesnt last as long as my mac kohl liner.
If i have red eyes i wont wear makeup, my eyes only get red from makeup remover or tight lining my waterline, so i know what to stay clear of or bust out eye drops

I agree with Erin, and another small tip is to use a bit of blue mascara on top of or instead of black, it helps to neutralize the eye color :)

I actually think that if your eyes are red you shouldn't use a contrasting colour. If you're trying to cover redness on the skin, then yes, but personally if my eyes are red and tired I prefer to use warm colours... Burgundy, warm browns, coral colours... That's just how I do it x

Is it the skin that's red? Because that could be a reaction to makeup you're using. If the whites of your eyes are red it could also be an allergy or possibly even conjunctivitis.
Try some lubricating eye drops, your eyes might simply be dry. There are drops called "clear eyes" which reduce redness.
If they continue to be red and/or irritated, consult your GP because it may be a viral conjunctivitis, in which case you should stop using makeup altogether until it clears up, and sadly you might have to throw out what makeup you've been using so that you don't re-infect your eyes once you're better.
I have it at the moment and I'm into my third week without makeup...
