Hello beauties!
I have a question. So, I was hired at Sephora and I have orientation next week. Can someone who works (or worked) at Sephora inform me on what to expect?
It's going to be from 9-5:30! That's a whole day! I am excited! Any information is appreciated!
Thank you. <3

Hey congrats on the job! I was also just hired and I had my orientation yesterday. Wow mine was from 7-12 so they may do more but this is what they had me do: You go in and they give you your locker number and a packet. You have to fill out some W-2 forms and fill out all that financial stuff and read over the Sephora policy book. Then they process some information like your social security and direct deposit stuff and you sign some more papers. Then you take a store tour they explain to you some 'Sephora language' haha then you watch some videos and go over some rules and procedures for differrent scenarios (shoplifters, counterfeiters), and general customer service stuff. They call it Sephora University which it is essentially a class dedicated to all about Sephora. You will learn lots of new things and have information overload for sure haha Have fun!

Congrats all of you!! That's wonderful. :)
I just got an interview for Sephora. Any inputs you'd care to share?

Thanks Jo!! It will probably be a group interview so there will be at least one or two other people there. I had one interview, and it was just myself with the two managers (the other girl never showed up!). They stress a lot about customer service and treating the clients with respect. It's a lot like other retail interviews, so it's not too nerve racking. Just be yourself and you will do great!! Best of luck!!

Jo: Definitely stress great customer service and making the experience personalized. In my opinion it is better to talk to much than too little in this case since they want to see you as a people person.
Check here for more tips that people left http://www.beautylish.com/t/vrymg/working-for-sephora
Constancia: I never submitted a resume I just asked for an application filled it out at the food court and returned it and they call you back once again check the link above for the thread I started asking for help when I was still interviewing. :D

Thank you all for your input. :)
I started working, and so far I love it! I am a beauty consultant.
When I applied, I just went straight the Sephora (with my resume). I filled out an application at the store and handed it to one of the managers. She asked me a few questions then told me to come back the following week for a group interview. The process was ridiculous, it took about a month to get hired. I had 3 interviews and 1 demo (smokey eye).
Sephora is all about TEAMWORK. I can not emphasize that enough. Your work experience prior, honestly does not matter. They have training for everyone (experienced or not). They hire people based on personality. I never worked sales in my life, but I told them I love makeup, I love meeting new people, and I love to learn.
You ladies are going to do great! Good luck. :) :)

I just got hired as a beauty consultant also! I came in twice, the first time to let them know I was interested and I talked to one of the managers pretty cordially. The second time I dressed up, brought in my resume, and reminded her that we had spoken and I was back to turn in my resume and that I had applied online. Within a week I got a call to schedule my interview, it was 1-on-1, and now I have my orientation on the 20th! I'm SOO excited!! Congrats to everyone else also~~ :3 My orientation is at 10am but they didn't say until when, hmmmm. Oh well, I'll just assume that it will be something along the lines of like 5 hours like the other girls ^_^ What did everyone else wear though? I was thinking about wearing a black dress, black tights, and a blue cardigan jersey?

Hello I recently was hired at Sephora and I have orientation next Tuesday. They said I was supposed to receive an email with more info and how to dress. Well I have yet to receive any emails. Should I call and tell them I haven't got an email? Or do any of y'all know if the email is that important? & if y'all receive one what all does it say?
