I hear so much about Make Up For Ever & how great this brand is. Which of their foundations & concealers would you recommend & do they photograph well? x x

The Face and Body liquid gives nice sheer coverage that can be built without looking cakey at all. I just recently started using DuoMat also, which is just a powder foundation, and the finish it gives me is absolutely perfect and natural. I like how light both of these are, and how they can both be easily built up to higher coverage now

i lvoe their matte velvet foundation and their hd foundations are great for professional photography if your just looking for a foundation that will photograph on a everyday camera i would go with the matte velvet instead of the hd foundations

Everything from MUFE photographs well. It's specifically for photographing. Except the HD powder, I've found that using too much doesn't.

gee m.

I haven't used any of their foundation and honestly not interested. However, I have used their HD powder and I have to agree with Steff it does not photograph well on me. A couple of times I have used a tiny bit of this product under my eyes and when I would take a picture you could see where I had used the powder.

The HD powder, IMO, is better than the HD foundation...just my opinion. GREAT powder and also, their concealer palette is amazing

It photgraphes okay (not having spf) if you're planning to put it on, take a picture, then wash it off. If you're doing a photoshoot it is not a good choice because it does not hold up long at all and essentially melts under the intense lights. To be honest, I often wonder about the people who swear by MUFE foundations. I'm skeptical to what they are comparing it to...Revlon, MAC, Bare Escentuals? All bad lines to compare quality foundation to since none have quality foundation. I love the MUFE line as they have some very good products but I do not turn to them for foundations because that is really not their expertise.

Angel,

Which foundations do you like? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I watched a YouTube demo that Wayne Goss did, he applied the HD Powder and then took a photo-- and his face was completely white! Wow. You would think that by calling a product HD-whatever, it would be meant for film. Crazy!

make up forever HD Foundation and concealer photographs really well and stays put on my oily skin. I never really used the powder as i have found it didnt really help with oil control :( However they make these DuoMat powders and those help better and Photographs really good too! :) they never broke my skin out either! from my pictures in here in beautylish the foundation i use is the MUFE HD and it literally makes my skin look a lot better than it should!

@Angel I thot i was the only one who realized that mufe hd foundation doesnt hold up in my photoshoot but i do have to say i love their matte velvet for my personal use but i would never use the hd foundation for a shoot...which is really kinda frustrating since it is suppose to be especially for photography....im with stephanie which foundations do you prefer? I have been using the graftobian foundations and found they work alot better for me then the mufe hd one...

@ Jasmine & Stephanie & any one else who cares I guess lol. There are a couple of brands I like and that shoot very well. First since we're on the subject of HD makeup CARGO was really the first to lauch an HD product and other brands like Smashbox and MUFE later jumped on the band wagon trying to create liquid foundations and failing...sadly failing in my opinion. Attached is a photo of a shoot where I packed an exclusive CARGO kit and headed out. CARGO liquid foundation is melt resistant gives a medium to full coverage and is great on ever skin tone. As well as melt resistant, they even have some products that are water resistant great when doing an under water shoot. I fell in love with CARGO after being behind the scene on Dancing with the Stars and seeing the MUA's using it and it looked fabulous after the dancers went out on stage, sweated under those lights and riggerous activity and never once needed touching up. It's also only $34 dollars for a 1.35oz pouch that allows you to squeeze every drop of makeup out before disgarding. I also like airflash from Dior but it is $60 and doesn't come in a deep shade range so I reserve this product for brides who want to look airbrushed and who are fair to medium in complexion. Like you, Jasmine, I do like and own the Matte MUFE foundation, but I find that I get pretty much the same results as I do when I use the Clinique Acne solution foundation for a fraction on the cost...both foundation I set with CARGO Blu_Ray HD powder for fuller coverage and maximum results. I am also crazy about Illamasque...their liquid makeup, not their powder. I like to use this brand when I'm working a shoot and I need the models skin to look dewy, glowly, and radiant. I also love the price point and the shade range is huge...sadly most people can only obtain illamasque in Sephora's and the shade range they have is sad. Honestly, I find that many of the brands I like don't have the noteraity of the brands that (to me) are blah. This may be in fact because most popular brands appeal to the masses more than they do to the artist and the brands that make products for artist seem to struggle a bit to stay afloat. Smashbox use to be a great brand appealing to the artist until they sold out to Estee and now they are crummy along the lines of MAC. Don't get me wrong, I do turn to MAC for eye shadows and blush (I find no prestige line can really screw up color items) but I reserve my complexion item to brands who still catar to MUA's demands rather than the every day publics demands...or lack of demands should I say. BTW I will have to try that graftobian since I've yet to.

my goodness you are like my mua fairy godmother with all the answers hahaha its great to find a professional mua that knows wat she is talking about because i am always trying to learn new things so that i can be the best i can in my profession!!! Now that the praise portion of this post is over hahahaha yes i do like the graftobian ones and i will be sure to check out the cargo foundation I was at sephora the other day and i agree they dont have a wide range of shades which is what made me not purchase their foundation but its good to know i hve another option now!

Thank you for your kind words. Some how in my novella, I forgot to add that I also love Kett. I meant to say this, the reason why I never tried graftobian dispite hearing rave reviews about it is because I have a MUA friend who owns it and says it's just like Kett cream makeup so I've yet to invest the money to find out for myself. Kett is a little more playfully priced because you can buy the single shades for like 15 bucks. Again, it's a makeup line that is melt resistant and water resistant.

hmmm never heard of Kett def have to go look them up!
