I absolutely love dramatic eye makeup, but I wear thick purple framed glasses. Any suggestions on how I can wear dramatic eye makeup without it looking like too much with my glasses?

Its funny that you say it looks too dramatic. I have very bold frames as well and I find I need a more dramatic look. I can do my makeup a million diffrent ways and as soon as I put on my glasses it makes it look neutral almost. if its turning out too dramatic try toning down your colos or dont use such bold colors. Hope that helps.

yeah I think when you wear glasses...especially bold or statement glasses you really need to be more dramatic with your eyemakeup for it to not get drown out by the glasses.

eyeliner helps me with this! I think when I do a cat eye with a white/ lighter eyeshadow that seems to stand out more with my glasses. When I know I am going out for the evening I usually just stick my glasses in my purse and walk around with less than 20/20 vision which is okay because I'd rather my glasses be safe than me break them while drunk and dancing! lol

Depending on your prescription lenses can either magnify the eyes making them appear larger or shrink the eyes making them appear smaller. If the lenses magnify your eyes I would say focus on deeper colors like blacks, dark browns etc. colors that will absorb light and essentially receed the look of large eyes. Black liner is also great as it helps to shrink the eye but still keeps the focus on the eye. If the lenses shrink you eyes I would say go for lighter shades, maybe even some glitter to help reflect the light making the eyes appear larger. You might also want to consider lining the water line with a white or nude pink eye liner to really open up the eye. If your frames are very thick and very dark I would suggest apply very little eye makeup because you essential choose a frame that will drown out anything you attempt to do with the eye so to counter it attempt to do very little. I would suggest a nude eyeshadow...almost the same color as your skin with some eyeliner and false eyelashes. You have already played up the eyes with the larger frames so you would need to stop trying to play them up even more with eye makeup. Pick another feature to play up like the lips or the cheeks. And in the future, when you are going shopping for glasses, wear your makeup has you would every day so that when you are picking out frames you find a pair that best compliments your every day look. Either that or invest in many different frames.
