Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a really good red eye shadow. I can only seem to find them in palettes, and I'd prefer to have just a singular shadow. If anyone can help me with this, it would be brilliant, thanks. x

I know nyx has a red eyeshadow if your looking for something on the the cheaper end of the makeup priceline and sugar pill sells single red eyeshadows as well which are of course more expensive then nyx but have great color pay off

Sugarpill's Love+ is a matte, super pigmented pressed shadow, if you don't mind forking over $12 (plus shipping).

I agree... Sugarpill Love+!! Not only does it beat a lot by it's price, but by the amount of product!!

Sugarpill's Love+ (pressed) and Asylum (loose) are my absolute favorite.

I agree with Sugarpill reds--fabulous!

If you don't mind loose then Fyrinnae has a number of them--Purgatory (new release) is a velvety wine-red (you can see my swatch here: http://www.makeupchicliterarygeek.com/2011/10/spotlight-fyrinnae-halloween-2011.html), or they have a few true reds like Bite Me. The site goes back up on the 20th of this month if you can hold out. I love them ;)

Makeup Forever.

Morgana Cryptoria is an indie brand but they have a loose red eyeshadow called "Bloody Mary". It's super red and has miniscule amounts of shimmer, but when I use it, the shimmer never comes out (which I was happy about :D)

It's hard to find because red dye is not FDA approved for use on the eye. So loose pigments are find because they are not specified what they are for, you will probably see somewhere on the packaging "not recommended for use around the eye". Same with the make up for ever one, it's technically a blush and you see the same warning

Actually there are a couple red dyes approved for eye use by the FDA. You can see them on the FDA site here: http://www.fda.gov/forindustry/coloradditives/coloradditiveinventories/ucm115641.htm Scroll down to the pink tables, that's where they list cosmetic dyes. Hope this helps with any confusion :)

Some people prefer not to use dyes at all, some people don't mind. Personal choice ;)

But when you click on the little number next to them it takes you to further explanation where it specifies to not use in the eye area.
Don't get me wrong, i've definitely done it lol I was just explaining why they aren't commonly found =]
