which do i apply first?

Depends. Generally, if you use a liquid or cream foundation you add concealer after that. If you use a mineral or powder foundation, concealer goes on first.
That said, I tend to apply concealer first even though I use liquid foundation, especially under my eyes.

I personally conceal before, I find the end result to look more natural. It's also easier to blend the foundation over a concealed area, than to conceal over a face with foundation.
I usually apply a thicker cream concealer under my eyes to smooth out the area and even out the color, then go through and blend my foundation into it. For acne scarring or blemishes I also do this as well but with a high pigmented liquid concealer.
For eyes I use: Ben Nye's Conceal All Wheel
For face I use: PF Conceal RX in Natural Light or MUFE Full Cover in 8

Thanks, Shelly! That makes sense! What brands do you recommend for concealer and foundation? I have oily skin. Thanks!

If I'm working on someone for the first time I usually apply foundation first before spot concealing. Reason being is you foundation is going to give a bit of coverage and I need to see what the foundation will cover on its own before I go in and start spot concealing. I may be there concealing all day trying to perfect the skin with concealer and essentially wasting my product because the foundation would have covered some of that. If I'm working on a familiar face like my own, I sometimes conceal first simply because I'm aware of what's going to need extra coverage and what won't. Hope that helps...and makes sense lol.

There is no right or wrong way to do it. I like to conceal after because, especially with spot concealing, you place the concealer so specifically and then go in and blend your foundation and move the concealer all around. So, I do foundation, then spot conceal and just blend the edges of the concealer

concealer, you could be wasting more than you need if you put it on before your foundation :)

Thanks Cecilia! It's taken a lot of work! It all depends on what you need to cover on your skin, and what kind of products you use. I don't have to do deal with acne that much anymore, most of the blemishes i have are remnants of acne and barely need coverage. I also use a really sheer foundation, and I find that applying over the foundation can look cakier(is that a word?) than what I like. The conceal RX also dries to a powder finish, so when I blend my foundation over it, it stays fixed to my skin, and doesn't move. So it provides a great corrected and smooth canvas before applying foundation.

I agree, Courtney! Then Cameron's conceal wheel will be great for blending with the foundation! Thanks for replying!

I used to conceal first way back...but for the last year or so, I've been concealing AFTER my foundation and eyes are done.. I like the end result much better!

I conceal after foundation, and then touch up when I have put on my eyemakeup to make the eyes really neat and tidy.

I use my Lise Watier Corrector Wheel before my foundation, then after I put my foundation on I use a concealer. It literally makes your skin look so flawless if you use a corrector first!

Ok, most of you say, foundation first, so I'll do that! But if I forget and apply the concealer first, then it's ok too because from what I see on your profile pics, you all have flawless makeup/skin! Am following you all now too. You guys have been a big help and I've learned a lot. Thanks much!!!
