I've been hearing a lot about these "Beauty Balms." I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on them.
I saw Smashbox was featuring their BB Cream on QVC and almost bought it.

Lots of posts on BB creams already. ;)
US BB creams are nothing more than silicone tinted moisturizers. Korean BB cream have certain items in it - like placenta - that the US BB creams do not contain.
I love my BB cream because of the silicone so I can skip primers (which are silicones) but all the claims that it'll do this or that is all bunk.

someone told me once that BB creams were "illegal" in the US because they use skin whitening ingredients. anyone know if there is any truth to that? i haven't tried any myself but would like to.. any info would be great :)

It's not illegal. Not all BB creams have skin whitening products in them and the ones that do are not illegal. Dr Jart is a Korean brand and it's now sold in Sephora. Plus there are bleaching creams on the market as it is.

That's interesting. I hadn't heard anything about "skin whitening" ingredients.

Some are suppose to help whiten the skin but most do not.
