Ok so I see soooo many tutorials of girls painting their nails and they just slather it on not caring if they go outside of their nail line.....I guess they clean it up after they finish painting. I always had to achieve perfection painting my nails; I take the time to stay in my nail line and have nice lines.....What do you do? Is it easier to just clean up your nails afterward?

I usually try my best to stay within the lines, but if i happen to make a bit of a mess I let the water in the shower take care of that. The polish on the skin comes off very easily if you gently rub it off while you're taking a shower.

I am pretty meticulous about staying within my nail line, I always leave a gap around the edge where there is no polish, especially at the cuticle. It is always how it has been done when I go for a mani so I figure it is the better way to do it.
It is actually one of my pet peeves when people do nail of the day pictures and they have polish all on the skin around their nail, drives me nuts!

I try to stay in the lines as much as possible, if I do get a little carried away with the polish I usually just clean it up by scraping up the polish with my thumb nail.

i try to stay in the lines as much as possible & clean up in between coats to discourage more messiness. i don't do the three swipe method as i should. /: i do a lot of swipes. if i miss a spot of nailpolish later after they're completely dry, i sometimes take a cuticle cutter & it sort of glides the dried polish off.

I paint my nails and get a nice thick, even coat. I don't worry so much about staying in the lines. After I paint them, I put on a thick cost of Sally Hansen UV protection clear coat. Then, I take a small paint brush with firm bristles, dip it in nail polish remover, and clean up the sides and cuticles. This works really well, and the more times you do it the better it will work!

I try to stay within the lines but it's very hard for me. Personally, I just try to clean up as much as I can after I'm done.

I was taught to do it in 3 swipes, but that has never worked for me. I try to stay within the lines and clean up as I go.

I've only just got the hang of making the stuff stay on my nails, so I'm not so fussed about staying in the lines. I've also seen a lot of arguing back and forth about whether the give the cuticle room to breathe or not...Cleaning up the edges with a cotton swab works well for me though.
