Okay in all honesty i only have 1 brush (m.a.c 242). I am so done with having one brush and need to practice using different brushes and techniques. So i saved money to buy a brush set...but i have no clue what brand to buy, what set/kit to buy, and how much money i should spend.. any help? thank you all!

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on brushes I definitely suggest the Ecotools brushes! I have their eye makeup brush set and they work amazingly! The set was only around $8 and you can find them at most drugstores. :) And like Mandy K said, you can get some pretty good brushes from ELF for cheap too. I love Revlon's foundation brush, it's the only one I've tried from their line, but it works great!

I think ELF has a Studio Brush set for a good price and they're excellent quality! They are very much worth the price, Ecotools brushes are great too!

The Sigma complete brush kit with brush roll will be perfect for you since you only have one brush. If you'd like, you can check out my review on it on here, it has more information.

I agree with Gabbie, Sigma is great quality and super close to MAC for an insanely cheap price!

I bought a crown brush set and they all shed horribly.
My strong advise is to save up to buy some more individually sold mac brushes. The best brushes are the ones you have to buy one-by-one. Brushes sold in brush sets for cheaper are generally much less quality.

If you havent had much experience with makeup brushes before, i wouldnt go out and buy a while bunch of MAC. A lot of the mac gurus agree that the ECO TOOLS brushes are amazing. You can get a PACK of them for less than 12.00 If you are wondering more on these, just look at reviews on them..they are all over the internet! such great brushes!

If you want to be particular and make sure you use all of your brushes, here are my favorite cheapo brushes that stand tall amongst my high-end brushes:
Ecotools angled brush: perfect for brow lining and can double as a gel liner brush
Ecotools bronzer brush: perfect for all over powder/kabuki brush
ELF "C" brush: eyeshadow brush, great for blending - like a wider, thicker MAC 239
Ecotools blush brush: perfect for super pigmented blushes. Picks up the right amount so you can't overdo your blush and look like a clown.
Essence of Beauty 2pack crease brush: like a smaller and bigger version of MAC's 219 pencil brush. Great for detail work
Check in w/ me if you want to ask about the Sonia Kashuk new pointed foundation brush... I'll be testing it out soon. =)
Best bang for your buck is def. the Ecotools brushes though. I wouldn't trade the ones I listed above for ANYTHING in the world.

I love the RealTechniques brushes by Samantha Chapman. They are fairly priced and are really hardwearing. I love the core collection and starter kit.
