I asked for a long bob and showed the stylist the picture on the left. I ended up with a jagged and uneven mess. I couldn't tell how bad it was until I styled it myself today (the stylist had dried it with a round brush which resulted in a bushy triangular shaped do and hid the jagged ends). I am embarrassed to go out on public, will be having them fix it asap. it looks worse than the picture. Anyway, I
is a long bob even possible? I don't want to go much shorter.

Yes but the angles are all wrong here. You'll have to go shorter to get the shape you're looking for because the front pieces are shorter than the back. Maybe add a few layers and keep the length?

Girl they mest up your hair.. you need to go back and tell them to fix it ( and don't pay) if they would have done that to my hair I wouldnt have paid.. but like seriously it can be fix just tell them to even it out and add a few layers and your good (:

Thanks everyone. It sucks because this was supposed to be a "makeover"' I drove an hour to a fancy salon, I am nursing so I had to pump before and after the appt, then the makeup was ugly too, and now I have to miss work to get it fixed. To top it off I splurged on a new pair of jeans that I wanted to wear tonight and just realized the ink tag is still attached :( Whatever, no big deal, it's just hard for me to get away and do anything for myself so this is disappointing.

Thanks I sent the same pic to the salon and will call in the morning. I liked the girl that did it and don't want to hurt her feelings but I don't want her touching it again. She said she has done hair for ten years so I thought I was in good hands. I keep shopping around for hair stylists because I have yet to find one that does a good job on my hair and genuinely cares about how I feel...sometimes I think they think I am stupid and don't know that I'm getting a crappy hair cut.

I knew something was wrong yesterday but was too shy to say anything until I had a chance to retreat and evaluate how bad it was without the round brush job on the ends...

Oh sweetheart, DONT let her touch it again. Ask for a manager to fix it. Then you might like the way she does hair. Or when you are out in your area and see great hair on someone ask who their stylist is. I hope you have better luck. It's a quick fix and shouldn't take your length off. Repost a pic when its fixed. XO.

Oh I hate that you had such a rough experience! it is so hard to get quality time off when nursing and you need to make it count;) So just some empathy here and best wishes that you can get it fixed for free and look even better than you imagined!

I totally understand about the nursing, I just finished nursing my 1 year old. I agree with everyone above tell em to fix it!! Just take a deep breath girl, try not to let it stress you out.

Thanks I am able to laugh about it for now...at least it makes a cute ponytail. hopefully it goes ok talking to the manager.

So I called the salon and the receptionist said they don't have a manager. The only way to fix it for free is to go back to the same girl. She said it wouldn't be fair to make another girl do it for free because the work on commission. Well crap. I don't think the girl even knows how bad it is because she did all the damage after it was dry (it was too fluffy so she attacked it with a razor). Anyway they didn't offer a refund or anything and I ended up making an appt with someone who has good reviews closer to home. Wish me luck, I will try to post an updated pic tonight.

Yeah I feel you! You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a good stylist.

Make sure you review this stylist accordingly on Yelp!! Lol that's my go-to spot for letting people know to stay away!

Happy ending, my hair is fixed and I found a stylist I like. Feel so much better now. My husband really likes the new look. I just might have to write a review for both places. I wish more people wrote reviews around here. most of the time there are none or they are out of date.

So today was the first day I tried to style my hair after having it fixed, and I couldn't make it look as nice as the stylist did. I know it will take practice but I could use some pointers. I pretty much did what she did but my hair is too fluffy and the ends don't look as nice. I dried it with a round brush and used a straightener on some pieces, but it was still too fluffy so I straightened all of it...I was running late as usual so it just doesn't look that great...would I be insane to try one of those devices that dry and curl your hair at the same time?

Make sure you're using product, often that's the big difference you feel after a salon style. It looks fairly lifted in the back, have you tried root lifters? Even a little hairspray at the root can do the trick (to achieve the bump) nicely. I would then straighten everywhere BUT there, flipping the iron outwards at the ends. More product to finish and you're good to go!

And no those devices would not be worth your time lol. There's a reason flat irons and blow dryers will always be prominent!

Thanks Maggie! I'm starting to figure out that there are no short cuts with this style, it just takes longer than I thought it would to look decent.
