I'm mixed race just like you so I feel your pain. I used to straighten my hair everyday. If you shower in the mornings before school, I would get some scrunching gel. But if you shower at night, I would run your hair under water then comb it out and wet it again and use scrunching gel or anything that works best for your hair (you can even scrunch it without water) and let it air dry. But if none if this works, I would recommend getting a diffuser or a diffuser attachment. It'll make your curls bouncy and soft and shiny. I have yet to use one on my own hair, but from what I've seen, they have good results on naturally curly hair. (Look up andreaschoice on YouTube and watch her curly hair routine. She's mixed race too) I hope this helped you and in sorry it's so long xD <3.
