I keep seeing posts for acne and comments saying to use witch hazel but I have no clue what that is of where to get it...
And does anyone have any experience with this? Does it truly work?

I'm not sure if it works but it's almost like peroxide. You can get it right next to the peroxide and alcohol at any drug store.

It's an astringent produced from the witch hazel plant and it's wonderful. I use it to make toner w/ a few drops of tea tree oil if my skin is especially active. It's all natural and versatile..for instance it can also be used to treat insect bites. It's not very expensive and definitely worth trying!
