Leave the background music out of it. I don't care what video you're doing, if you're going to talk in it, don't put music in it (if you're taking breaks of silence, then by all means, fill in the awkward silence). Not everybody can hear, or hear well (and YouTube has the most absurd closed captioning system in the universe so unless you want to be that rare person and put CC yourself...), and putting on background noise just muffles your words and there's no point in teaching/explaining things to people if you don't make yourself as clear as possible.
