I have really bad discoloration in my legs and they are really big so this is the shortest length I am comfortable with.

Nay, but that is just my opinion, I have a very preppy and classic style, and I am not edgy or daring in any way (: I love your shorts! I think the length is perfectly fine (: Ignore the crowd, sometimes really really short shorts come off as trashy to older adults. (: Hope this helped

I like the shorts but not the tshirt, maybe if you put a plain white tshirt with it or Evan a lace overtop then it would look even nicer(:
