I usually purchase my coconut oil from Vitamin Shoppe but I've heard others purchasing it at Walmart etc. You'll find it in the cooking Isle. Just make sure it's pure organic!

Sooooo, I hope you don't wash your hair every day or every week with shampoo, we're not supposed to. Because our hair doesn't reproduce oils quite as well as other peoples hair does it's really bad for our hair if you're not using a sulphate free shampoo as shampoo strips alllll the nutrients out of hair. If you wash every week (I personally only wash my hair once every two weeks with conditioner only) I recommend co washing instead of using shampoo. Only use shampoo when you feel like your hair as a lot of product build up (like I only use shampoo once a month or so). This also helps our hair grow. Before you wash do a coconut oil treatment on your hair, or even grapeseed or extra virgin olive oil, and make sure to deep condition your hair. If you use heat on your hair just put a shower cap on and sit under the dryer with the conditioner of choice in your hair or if you don't use heat put two plastic bags on your head (or shower caps) and just let it sit for a few hours before washing it out.
How often do you moisturize and seal your hair every week? Normally we need to put some kind of moisturizer in our hair at least once or twice a week and seal the moisturizer in with oil. Putting oil alone in hair doesn't do anything as it's a sealant so it traps in moisture, so put it on dry hair and well, it's not good. I started moisturizing and sealing my hair (before my kinky twists) about two times a week and my hair would be super shiny and not dry at all.

Try not to shampoo everyday. Try. The best thing you can do for your hair is brush brush brush brush brush brush brush brush. Its a challenge. Try it for a month. And I'm talking brushing, for 5 minutes min. Try it.

I've found Amazon to be the cheapest for Coconut oil. I like http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003B3OOPA/ref=ya_aw_oh_pit.

Hot oil treatments once a month help along with coconut oil once a week. Keep your ends trimed as well to have growth.
