Help With Dying My Hair Lighter?

My hair is kind of light brown it looks darker in this photo. I want my hair to be lighter for spring and I'm wondering how light I can go with dyeing it without bleach? Or would I need bleach to go lighter? I'm going to Sally's Beauty Supply tonight to buy whatever products I need. Any tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

All you need to ask for is a pre-lightner, I think that's not bleach, and it just lightens up your hair a notch x

If that is your natural color you can lighten it using color and higher developer. if you have previous color on your hair you will have to use bleach/ lightner.

What hali said... If you've never dyed your hair before you can go up to four shades lighter with color you need to find out your natural hair color level then find a color 4 levels lighter then your natural and mix with a 40 volume developer however if your hair has been previously colored the only way to get it any lighter is to bleach it and pre lighter and all that stuff IS bleach
