I'm not sure but I think it might. Maybe don't dye it all the way to the roots?

No. It will grow through with its natural colour :)

I'm not sure, because dark red is a very intense colour and my best friend dyed her hair with semi-permanent colour from light blonde to light chocolate brown, and shes just getting her natural hair colour back, and its though. It depends on you natural hair colour. If your natural hair is slightly red, you won't notice a difference, after it is washed out, but if not, you will, I guess, have a red shimmer in your hair.

When I dyed my hair using a semi permanent colour it has changed the colour slightly and my hair is more coarse and rough but once your hair has grown back out it will be the same as before you dyed it :)

As a licensed hair professional I will tell you that a semi permanent hair color will not lighten your hair physically. They just coat your hair strand.

BUT, it IS still hair dye. It will always be there even if the color has faded away. So if you ever do any other color or something different you will have to take it into consideration. Even if its months old.

I always do my best to try and explain this because a lot of people sit in my chair and don't think to tell me that they've colored their hair before because they don't think semi permanent dyes count. Then when I try to lift/perm/relax whatever, it needs a little extra care.

No you can never change your natural color. But it will fade out after a few months. I had blonde and dyed mine brown after 2 months and the color gets lighter after every wash.

I dye my dark blind hair black with semi permanent dye...if I wanted to let it go back blonde...I could stop dying and it would get lighter with every shampoo...BUT blonde hair stains easily and I cannot ever get the dye to wash out completely the hair that was dyed even after 100 washes will still be darker than my new growth
But I'm going from dark ashy blonde to black that's a big difference
But going from light brown to red...or dark blond to copper I don't think would be such a noticeable difference once it starts to wash out
