I've been wanting to die my hair deep reddish brown but I went swimming like 4 hours ago how long will I have to wait to die it any ideas.or tips.

Wait at least a day. Wash your hair now and then day after tomorrow dye your unwashed hair.

Color doesn't hold as well on unwashed hair. honestly I'd wash it now with a clarifying shampoo and color it once your hair has dried.

It usually says on the dye box to do it on unwashed hair. Also if you go to a salon they don't use shampoo on you before dying your hair.

I just graduated cosmetology school. dirty hair does not help color in any way. if anything it makes it worse bc the color has to break through the dirt and grease on your hair. it is better on clean hair. and the reason we dnt shampoo your hair and then color it is bc your have to color dry hair.. so it'd be stupid n more work for us to wash your hair before blowdry then color then shampoo then blowdry again. you should just come in with clean dry hair.
