I have combo skin. It's usually really oily or really dry. Right now my skin is going through its dry phase. I cannot seem to find anything that helps hydrate my skin. I switched my foundation (was using MAC Studio Fix Fluid), I have strayed away from soapy cleansers, and I even tried a cetaphil cleanser and the end result is the same: my face feels tight and dry. I use MAC Mineralize Charged Water Gel Moisturizer. It was working so well for my skin, but now it's of no help :( I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions and I am also open to both drugstore and high end brands. Thanks :)

If your face feels oily, just splash clean water on your face and pat dry. The reason your skin is dry might be washing your face too much and washing out all the natural oils in your skin. Remember, warm water opens pores up and cold water closes them up!!

Use CeraVe face wash (Walgreens) as well as a serum - I use olay lotion+serum in a purple tube. When washing your face, use your shower loofa and GENTLY exfoliate, very gently, but focus on the dry spots. Then in the morning when you wash your face, use he corner of a towel to exfoliate your face more, again focus on the dry spots. After you rinse, splash your face with cold water and then go put some moisturizer/serum on. Hope this helped.

I have exactly the same problem and it drives me crazy when my skin feels tight! One thing that's really helped me lately is cod liver oil capsules. I take one most nights and I don't get dry patches anymore :) you could try something similar? Also, the best face cream I've used for dry skin is by Benefit surprisingly! Hope you find something that works for you :)

Try a facial steamer. Conair makes a good one and it's fairly cheap. They sell it at Target.com for about $24. Also a good moisturizer to use is Nivea Soft for face and body.
