Go as long as you possiblly can without washing your hair and don't use heat on it.

Braid your hair when it's damp, and finger comb your hair instead of brushing and combing, and no heat whatsoever.

Wash you hair with mane n tail and then after you towel dry your hair massage your scalp/hair with moroccan/argon oils :)
