Whilst I was straightening my hair today, I found a small chunk that looked ripped out. I don't know how it happened but I did try and get a knot out of my hair whilst I was in the shower but I did not see how big the knot I combed out was. Luckily, the ripped piece is an under layer but I have very long hair (past my waist) and this piece is now not even shoulder length :( are there any products, oils or tips you guys could suggest? X.

You just have to wait for it to grow, there's not much else you can do.

Thanks Courtney :) my friend recommended biotin or folic acid. Would they help the growing process?

I know biotin helps strengthen hair. So it won't make it grow faster but it will help keep it from breaking, making it seem like its growing faster. I'm not sure about folic acid.
