It doesn't make your hair lighter, but it helps to keep the coppery tint out of colored hair. If you have highlights or colored blonde hair it works awesome! It slows the brassy color change so you don't have to go to the salon as often.

No. It does not make your hair lighter. It adds purple to cancel gold/red/orange tones.

No, there is no shampoo that can make your hair lighter. The purpose of purple shampoo is to cancel out warm tones, just as the other girlies said. However, even if a person has blonde hair and is trying to cancel those colors...if they use it too much, they can get a purple hue to their hair. So it's not something to use all the time. But it definitely. can't make your hair lighter.
