Basically just keep it healthy. Small trim when needed, deep condition once a week or so, you can also take supplements like fish oil, vitamin e, or biotin which are good for hair nails and skin.

Heat up some olive oil in the microwave for about 15-20 sec. Then massage your scalp 2-3 times a week!

Try not to use so much heat. Apply coconut oil about 2 to 3 times a week, and take biotin pills they help your hair grow :)

Most people actually don't know this, but when you brush your hair it stimulates the roots causing it to grow :)

You can braid your hair fairly tightly about half an hour before bed then just before bed sort of massage your scalp with your fingers, thru the braid/s for a few mins, then go to bed with the braids in. In the morning take out the braid/s, massage your scalp thoroughly and wear your hair loose during the day, also as Cait said make sure to brush your hair well as it does stimulate the follicles to grow as well as distributes natural oils through your hair...making it shiny :) ps I am in my 3rd year of hairdressing apprenticeship :)

Keep your hair hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using moisturizing conditioners. Eat plenty almonds, fish (salmon especially) and dark green vegetables like spinach. Make sure your iron levels are good too. Give your scalp a massage every day for 10 minutes and flip your head upside down for about 2 minutes to get the blood circulating around the follicles. Healthy, nourishing hair masks, are a must, I use one called pro naturals Moroccan argan oil hair mask, it’s very moisturizing and it makes your hair really healthy. Also, get regular trims to prevent split ends and encourage healthy growth.
