Soooo pores don't open and close? Then how can I make my nose smoother? Is it even possible?! And yeah I keep my pores clean.

I don't think there's anything to do :/ I got big pores as well, and no amount of skin care has changed that :(

Yea it sucks... I find that my new primer do cover them up a bit, but not on my nose...

We just have to rock our big pores girl ;)

I know the feeling @ Sabrina what primer do you use?

Porefessional by benefit is a brilliant primer if ya want to give that a go? Really worked for me. x

Yeah I know primer helps, totally!. I just wish I could have a smooth nosey with makeup OFF too;)

So first you need to clean them out. Biore strips are the quickest way. Then use a pore minimizing astringent. For instant coverage use Benefit Porefessional. Just a side note, Jennifer Aniston plunges her face into a bowl of water with ice cubes every night!! She swears it keeps her pores tight...not sure if I would do that but desperate times!!

Aside from the ice water, I follow that regime, I just turn the water on cold and finish that way. But in my part of AZ "cold" water is room temp, if you're lucky. I'll just have to get me a bowl of ice water I suppose, thank you Shanda dear:)

I've been using witch hazel gel lately, it really does the job!

CorCor C - I use a primer from Rimmel :) I will look up the name for you :)

And ladies, I think what Desiree wants to know is how to permanent close up those pores, and not just cover them up :) I know I would love to know that ;)

Witch Hazel GEL?! Ooooooohh! That sounds refreshing, especially from the fridge!! Yeah I'm definitely going hunting tonight, haha.

A clay based mask is something that I find really helps. But if this is a big challenge or concern of yours, there is laser resurfacing which really helps to even out any texture irregularities in the skin. Helped my large pore situation big time. :)

Eek yeah, might have to save up some $$$! Its not a huge insecurity necessarily but it is hindering me in a way...just trying to stop wearing foundation and my nose pores make it hard (which is why primer is cool and all, love it, but trying to keep my skin almost nakie)! Sigh, guess I'll have to wait on the boob job haha! Skin > boobs!

Nothing closes pores -_- so unfortunate. just use pore minimizing products. they definitely do help.

Try vitamin A on the skin. And don't try and purge pores yourself. That can stretch them.

Your pores are enlarged because they either have dirt trapped in them (dirt you cannot see) or they are irritated, most likely due to the variety of products that you are using on them. Flushing your face with cold water can actually cause the dirt to stay trapped. No matter which products you use do not use a 'hodge podge" of products. If you use Biore, use ALL of their products on your face, not Biore stripes, Clean and Clear Wash, Neutrogena Astringent, etc. Brands are formulated to work together and your skin will get confused causing a wide variety of problems. I always suggest going the natural route. Witch Hazel has been proven effective for many skin conditions as has Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera has been a proven remedy for over a hundred conditions, internal and external. When buying natural products you need to check out the ingredient list. A lot of companies use water as the first ingredient which makes it the abundant ingedient, not the Aloe (do you really want to pay $10+ for a product that is mostly water?). They also use harmful ingredients such as waxes, alcohols, SLS's, oils and dyes. Remember, natural Aloe is clear, not blue or green! Good Luck!
