Brush hair/massage scalp before getting into the shower. I shampoo the top of my head and give myself a head massage for about 2 minutes to help circulation; I never ever ever shampoo the ends, there's no need. I then either deep condition or use regular conditioner on my ends and rinse with cold-ish water.

Like Arisa, I brush my hair out before washing my hair as well. I make sure to get my hair completely wet, especially by my scalp, and then I wash my hair, usually twice. I also wash the roots of my hair first, scrubbing my scalp, then using the excess shampoo to wash my ends. Afterwards, I use a deep conditioner and let it sit for 3 minutes in the shower before rinsing it off, scrubbing my scalp again as I do so.
Whenever washing my hair, I always make sure to use cold water as it gives hair a nice shine.

I detangle my hair for about half an hour.
Then I Put conditioner in for about half an hour.
Next, I Part my hair into four big twists.
Then I Wash my hair in those four sections at a time.
Later, I condition and detangle again for about an hour.
And let it air dry in a ponytail.

In interest of keeping my color fresh: Regularly- I rarely brush, bc my hair is very short, but if it is longer, definitely put a few strokes in-wet, wash 1x unless I have an excess of product, focusing on my scalp, massaging it in. Then I condition my ends to the root..because my hair is so fine, i use a minimal amount, and add as needed. If I know I'm going to say want a lot of volume & texture, I sometimes skip it-mind you this is bc of the texture & cut of my hair...I leave the conditioner on while I do the rest of my bathing ritual. I usually use a deep conditioner 1x a week. If can, do to my schedule, skip a day or so of washingbut I don't buy into the whole don't wash your hair baloney. I just think you have to do your wash according to your hair' sneeds.
