I have 20inch extensions and the ends are dead so I would like about an inch or so off, I was also think of getting them layered, what should I tell the hairdresser?

Yeah just tell her that. In my experience, hairstylists never want anything to do with my extensions. (Coloring, cutting) I think some are afraid of damaging them. I hope this experience is different for you!
