Well, it almost depends on if your skin is oily or dry. I have oily skin and I've tried Bobbi Browns's cream foundation and my skin was very angry with me the next day. The coverage was beautiful but not worth the horrid acne that followed. Liquid is great for those with oily skin (provided that there is no oil involved). I just recently decided to leave liquid alone and focus on using mineral powder foundation and oil free bb creams since I've noticed positive changes in my skin by sticking with those two products.

I absolutely adore Laura Mercier's cream foundation just because of the coverage and how little I have to use to cover my entire face. However I have combination skin and the cream foundation just seemed to make my skin extremely oily so I gave up on it. Now I mostly only use it as a concealer as I can build the coverage very easily.
Now I use Benefit's oxygenated liquid foundation with SPF. It has anti-aging ingredients and it's moisturizing. I figured because it's moisturizing, it might only make my oiliness worse but it seems to be having the opposite affect. After reading up a little bit, I found that not moisturizing enough if your skin is oily only makes your skin produce more oil. Who knew?
Anyway, I'm definitely a strong lover of liquid foundation now with a light powder over it to set it.

Depends on your skin type but in my opinion cream is better.
