You'll actually need to soak them in 100% pure acetone. You can soak a cotton ball and tape it around each finger and let it sit until the polish is soft enough to scrape off.

Agree with Alicia- it also makes it easier if you buff off the top coat before soaking.

Soak cotton wool pads in pure acetone and wrap each finger in tin foil (normal kitchen foil will do, the kitchen foil creates heat). Leave each finger wrapped in the acetone soaked cotton wool and then wrapped in tin foil for 10 mins.
The shellac will have become flakey and wi just brush / scrape off :)
