I don't wear foundation only if I'm going out on a date or something like that. I do use concealer around my eyes though cause I have dark circles. what's primer for? is it really necessary?

I don't think it is necessary if you moisturize well or you don't have oily skin.

Not necessarily, but I have noticed it makes a difference. I have acne prone skin and acne scars and I feel like using a primer helps my makeup look more smoothly over all of that.

If you hardly wear foundation then don't worry about it.

So this just lead me to my new question lol sorry
how do I properly moisturize? the way I care for my face now is I wash it with dove soap and put regular body lotion on afterwards.

Buy face moisturizer and put it on after you wash, silly!

Lol regular body lotion is fine. Buying a lotion for every part of your anatomy is a bit daft, isn't it? You're doing it right *thumbs up*

I don't think it is necessary. I actually never use it. Moisturizer works as a primer actually (I have heard you don't want to use both), and if I decide I want an eye primer I just use my concealer (or you could use a cream shadow of a similar color or white), but that is pretty rare. So no, not necessary.

Thanks so much for all information Jacqueline! so helpful! I'm running to the store tonight and buying proper things for my face lol
one question though. do I use the face moisturizer before the toner? or after? or just one or the other?

Use a moisturizer...it works just as well...primer tends to make me break out as it traps the oil.

There different types of primers. one that helps to fill youre pores, so youre skin looks more smoother. one that makes youre make up stays longer. ones that help with oil skin typs. they also come in different color. I have a pink one, and that helps really well for my skintone. some primers have good and healthy ingredients for the face.

Primer is not always necessary. It's meant to even out skin texture & help the makeup adhear to the skin - kind of like velcro. On my skin, I don't need to use primers, I do need them on my eyes tho. Play around with it. Try wearing a primer one day, & the next try without. Take notes on how well it stay with and without the primer. Moisturizers act really well as a primer too. Hope this helps :)
