I've used clindoxyl (which is a clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide mix). I had to use it consistently for about 3 months to see results. I used it in the morning and retin-a at night. Now my skin is really clear and it was definitely worth the time.

Clindamycin is an antibiotic, so it kills the acne bacteria. And retin-a prevents your pores from clogging (because clogged pores are home-sweet-home for acne bacteria!) so the two products together act as a tag-team.

My family doctor prescribed the antibiotic first, then he sent me to see a dermatologist who added the retin-a. But now whenever I need refills, I go to a regular walk-in clinic and ask for the prescriptions.
