Hi ladies two weeks ago I suffered from a little case of shingles, it is gone now but I am left with a few spots on my face from the blisters drying up, how can I prevent it from scarring terribly I have been using Neosporen any other ideas?

Once they heal use mederma on them I no they are painful hope your feeling better.

Hey Emily, I feel your pain!! I had shingles a few years ago and it was an absolute nightmare!! Luckily I had it on the side of my stomach so the scars aren't visible. I'm pretty sure the scars aren't permenant as mine have disappeared on their own. But once it's completely dried up you could try bio oil? Hope that helps. :)

My boyfriend had shingles on his chest and used camomile to help clear it up. This was about 2 years ago and there's no scaring at all now :)

Shingles are horrible, I'm so glad you are feeling better! I recommend using Aloe Vera as a scar treatment. The oils, waxes and alcohol in any other product could cause your pores to clog. Make sure you check out the ingredient list in your Aloe. Many companies water Aloe down our add nasty chemicals such as dyes (Aloe is clear, not blue or green), fragrances or even alcohol. True Aloe Vera is amazing and you can apply it directly to your next shingles breakout for faster healing time!

Oh my god, this is like the best post I've seen.. I wokeup with shingles a few days ago, thought it was a spider bite, wokeup with a fever went to the emergency room. and got a diagnosis. it's not fun. the pain is terrifying and how it happens is even scarier. it's on my forehead near scalp and my forehead. I'm out of work right now because of it.. but, it's clearing up on my forehead. I'm on antibiotics. almost died when I heard I had it. they said it can be brought on from stress.. sadly, I missed the vaccine when I was younger by 2 years.. I just wokeup with it. and because, it lays dormant inside of you and can come out whenever you least expect it. try not to scratch it, or touch it or pick at it. and it should clear up.. it takes awhile almost thirty days... so glad I found this topic!
