My red hair has faded and its growing so my roots are my natural color. I'm thinking of going natural and letting my hair grow out. I've heard of people. getting the dye out of their hair with stuff that they did at home. Do you know where I could find it? And if you have tried it did you like the results?

You can get a color stripper at sallys but eventho it still won't take you bak to your natural itl most likely just pull some red out the only way to go bak to natural is to let it grow.

^ exactly. Not only that, but I'm almost certain that all of the color removers at Sally do contain a small amount of lightening agents (ie bleach) so you'd most likely end up not only with not your natural, but with red a very undesirable color can occur.

I guess this would be difficult to do with red but I used to have bleach blonde hair 3 years ago and I wanted my natural dark strawberry blonde back so I simply just stopped bleaching my roots and instead got my roots highlighted every month. Every time I went to get them done I'd ask for less and less highlights to we're eventually it looked hombre. Now I don't need to do any touching up to my roots because it just looks like I meant to be hombre. My hair is still bleached at the end but in about another year it will be long enough to finally hack off the bleached ends... And then viola! My natural virgin hair will be back!! However I do not think this concept will work too well with red hair.. It's just something to think about. You want to do as little as possible dye or strip wise to your strands because they will get too damaged beyond repair

Well I know from experience that red can be faded easily. if you use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week it will make the color bleed out. it does still have a line when growing out so you could just dye it close to your natural color if you just want it to be over with. if you go to the salon you can match it with your roots. the color strippers don't really work, just change the color to a strange bronze color.
