I use sulfate free shampoo because sulfate strips hair dye :( Hot water also isn't good for hair dye so in shower in Luke warm water.

Sulfate free shampoo, don't wash your hair with hot water. Wash it with the coolest water you can stand. When you color it, don't use box dye. Get color from Sally's. If you're coloring your hair darker only use 10 volume developer. Using anything higher will not deposit as much hair color and cause unneeded lifting on the cuticle of your hair and allow to color to wash out more. They also make shampoos and conditioners that have pigment in them to replace what gets washed out. You can find them at Sally's, some salons, and I think people have told me Ulta has them.
