I have dry flaky skin and I have a hard time putting on foundation or anything with pigment like a bb cream onto my skin without getting dry patches. What are some good primers you would recommend?

Do you moisturize first?

Exfoliating might help also just not daily.

Use lots of moisturizer first and then use hard candy primer, it's like 7$ at Walmart and goes on so smooth and keeps skin hydrated

Thanks! I was wondering if the primer is fine for my skin as I do have sensitive skin as well :)

Smash box has one designed specially for skin in need of moisture. I think it's the blue one

Wow thanks Amelia for posting that! I didn't know that existed. I have dry skin and when I used the original photo finish one, it just made it worse! I love your name also!

I second Kayleigh. The hard candy one is cheap, awesome, and comes with a ton of product!

Hard candy balled up on me. I use primed n pore less but smashbox would be the best. I have super dry skin w flakes here and there from acne. Bri-Bri, I have found and amazing moisture rich cleanser, makeup remover that's all natural. It's called Ultrabland from Lush!! I also use Angels on Skin to exfoliate from Lush too. I can't even express the difference in my skin after three days. You must try!!:) you will have such softness!

I dunno I have dry flaky sensitive skin and used laura mercier primer and felt it did nothing I was so disappointed everyone said it was great. I think I'll go to smashbox or try that hard candy one.
No matter what I did my skin would flake and the one day I used the Josie maran infinity cream as a base/moisturizer and put on my nars tinted moisturizer right after and blended it in and set with urban decay spray it lasted all night and wasn't flaky. It looked like skin I was amazed but only done it the one time I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke.
And I third the lush ultra blend cleanser. I use 9 to 5 as well which is similar but can be used with moisturizer more as it's not as Rich :) oil based cleanser ftw
